East or West: An NRI Mother's Manual on How to Bring up Desi Children Overseas
‘Where are you from?' Pause. Like most ‘third culture kids' brought up outside the country of their birth and passport, I had always been that bit slower to respond. There had never been a right answer.
The idea of this book is to start a dialogue on the subject of bringing up Indian children abroad. It is not to prescribe rules. What makes this book different from other parenting manuals is that it does not set out to be the best way or the only way to bring up children abroad. It is unapologetically Indian—by an Indian and for Indians—though other ethnic minorities, particularly from Asia, will be able to identify with many of the issues.
A must read for all NRI parents - because amma says so!
